Richard Gasquet v Juan-Ignacio Londero Head to Head
The pair have met three times before, all matches coming in 2019. Londero won their two matches on clay, at the French Open and at Bastad, and Gasquet won on a hard court in Basel.

Gasquet flew all the way to Australia, endured the two weeks mandatory quarantine, and played in the Murray River warm-up event, only to have to withdraw from the Australian Open itself with a knee injury.
And his problems persisted in the next tournament he played in Doha, winning his first round match before having to scratch from that event as well.
He was fit enough to compete in Dubai where he got to the second round, eventually beaten by Hubert Hurkacz, but then took more than a month off, before reappearing on tour in Barcelona last week.
However, his first match on clay of the year did not go according to plan – he was beaten by Jordan Thompson of Australia in three sets.
Although better known for his prowess on hard courts and grass, Gasquet did reach the quarter-finals of the French Open in 2016, and won the singles title there ss a junior.

Can Londero Find Winning Formula Again?
Londero has not won a match on the ATP tour since reaching the second round of the French Open last September. And that is despite choosing to play exclusively on clay, his favourite surface, since losing in the first round of the Australian Open.
In fact, in that losing sequence, he has only won two sets, so poor has been his form and his confidence has suffered as a consequence.
He did qualify for Monte Carlo as a lucky loser, but was then thrashed by Filip Krajinovic, in straight sets.
His most recent humiliation came in Belgrade last week, where he suffered another first-round defeat, this time at the Frenchman Arthur Rinderknech, the world 129.
For the time being at least, he has forgotten how to win.

Although Londero won their two previous matches on clay, he is in the middle of a prolonged slump in form, and it will be a major surprise of he can win this time.
