Richard Gasquet v Jaume Munar Head to Head
The pair have never met before. This will be the first match between the 34-year old Frenchman, and the Spaniard, who is a decade younger.

Gasquet Makes Second Successive Quarter-Final
Gasquet, the winner of two previous clay court titles, is now into his second successive quarter-final, having reached the same stage in Lyon last week, before losing to Karen Khachanov.
However, after beating the German qualifier Daniel Altmaier comfortably enough in his first round match, he was made to work a lot harder by Pedro Martinez of Spain, the world 109, in their match on Wednesday.
Gasquet began well, breaking Martinez early in a first set which was dominated by serve, with only two breaks forced, one of which the Frenchman converted.
The pair swapped breaks and Gasquet put the Spaniard’s serve under sustained pressure, forcing several break opportunities which he was unable to take.
And he paid for his generosity when his own serve was broken by the Spaniard at the fourth attempt. Martinez was finally able to serve out for love.
Gasquet picked up his game in the third set and broke Martinez early, only for the Spaniard to level.
The Spaniard though cracked under pressure, gave up his serve one more time, and this time Gasquet held one more time to claim the win.

Munar Benefits From Paire’s Retirement
Munar has already won an event on the Challenger tour this year and been the beaten finalist in two others, , and has enjoyed a fair degree of success on the senior circuit as well., reaching the semi-final in Andalucía on home soil.
However, his advance to the last eight in Parma had an element of good fortune about it, after his opponent, the second seed Benoit Paire, was forced to retire from their match on Wednesday.
The pair had shared a tight first set, which saw three breaks apiece, before Paire once again lost his serve at the decisive moment. Munar took full advantage and held his own serve to take the first set.
Both held their serves at the start of the second set but then Paire was broken again, surrendering his serve on the fourth break point.
Munar got to 40 love in his next service game when Paire pulled out and decided he could not carry on, retiring from the tournament.
Gasquet v Munar Prediction and Tip
Gasquet is the higher-ranked player, but of the two, Munar is the better clay court player and that should give him the edge in this match.
