With just one stroke, Duckworth managed to double his main draw wins on grass as the Aussie qualifier came through his first round match in straight sets.
Duckworth, who had won just one previous main draw match on grass, had qualified for this event with wins over Luke Saville and Ilya Ivashka in the qualifiers. But going into his opener against Adrian Mannarino, Duckworth was at 17/10 odds to win it.
As it turned out, the Aussie came through in straight sets, defeating Mannarino 6-3, 6-2 in less than an hour to qualify for round two.
The Aussie faced four break-points but saved all of them while delivering three to his opponent and will now hope to continue with that kind of form against a trickier opponent.

Querrey Breaks 2020 Lull
Since winning his first round match at the Great Ocean Road Open in early February, Querrey had struggled to get going and won nothing. No qualifier or Challenger competition match either.
Over the following four months, he played five matches and lost each of them but despite he was an overwhelming favourite in his opening round match against the Turkish qualifier Altug Celikbelik.
And he lived up to that top billing with a 6-4, 6-1 win over his opponent in a match that lasted exactly one hour.
The one-sided nature of the contest could be seen from the fact Querrey earned himself nine break-points and clinched four of them but at the same time it never got close to that for his opponent. Celikbelik did not earn a single break-point in the match.
Querrey’s overall record on grass is one to behold with the American having won 68 of his 106 matches on the surface. Can he add to that tally?
Duckworth v Querrey Prediction and Tip
Querrey starts off a favourite yet again and should have no real worries in getting past his Aussie opponent in this one. A straight-set win looks like a good punt.
