Frances Tiafoe v Liam Broady Head to Head
Their only previous competitive meeting came in the qualifiers of the 2017 Queen’s Club competition and Broady had taken down Tiafoe in a fighting three-setter.

Having struggled through the clay swing earlier this season, Tiafoe’s best showing on that surface was a second round appearance at a couple of those tournaments he had featured in.
On grass, Tiafoe has seemed more at home so far although it must be quickly added that he’s played at one Challenger and one ATP competition so far this year.
At that Nottingham Challenger, Tiafoe had gone on to lift his first tournament of 2021, and he followed it up with a quarterfinal appearance at the Queen’s Club competition the following week. A straight-set loss to Denis Shapovalov at the quarterfinal stage might have stung but the overall run on grass would have raised his confidence.
Because before this, Tiafoe hadn’t won more than two matches in a row on grass and to emulate that this quickly should get him going even more.

Broady’s Become Bit of a Challenger Specialist
Broady has played six ATP level tournaments but to go with that, he has also been involved in five Challenger competitions this season. In fact he had begun the season on the back of two appearances in the final of Challenger competitions and while he lost both Broady took that confidence forward and on to the ATP tournaments.
While he didn’t quite convert that into a longer run in tournament main, Broady did manage qualification for the main draws of a few of them, before getting to the grass swing.
It hasn’t been a good start to that though.
At the Nottingham Challenger, Broady fell in the second round while losing to Adrian Mannarino in the first round at the Queen’s Club competition.
Which is an indicator how difficult a jump it is between the two levels of competitions. And against Tiafoe things will get really tough despite his form otherwise.

Straightforward, straight-set win for Tiafoe is what we are expecting here. Tiafoe’s form will be too much to handle for the British player.
