Alejandro Davidovich-Fokina v Vasek Pospisil Head to Head
The pair have never met before. This will be the first match between the 22-year old Spaniard, and the Canadian who is eight years older.

Like nearly all Spanish players, Davidovich-Fokina was brought up on clay and has little experience on grass. That can be seen in his Wimbledon record where, in two previous attempts he has never made it out of qualifying.

That perhaps can explain his sluggish start on Tuesday evening against Mikael Ymer of Sweden, the world 98, with a first set strewn with errors and dropped serves from both men, However, eventually Davidovich-Fokina took it by dint of the fact that he made fewer mistakes than his opponent.
Again, the second set began with a sequence of dropped serves, at the end of which the Spaniard was a break ahead. He then consolidated that with two more breaks and, in the end, ran out an easy winner.

Pospisil Ends Losing Streak
Canadian Pospisil broke a losing streak going back to the second round in Qatar on Tuesday night, beating the British wildcard James Ward, currently ranked 340th in the world.
That in fact was only the second match he had won all year, although it should be pointed out that he has not played a lot of tennis, opting to miss the whole of the European clay court season.
Nevertheless, he will be glad to get the Ward match under his belt.
He began the match well, breaking the British layer in the third game of the match, and then controlling the rest of the first set from there.
And the second set was almost a carbon copy of the first, with Vasek securing an early break and then easing to victory, with Ward never look like breaking the Canadian.
Davidovich Fokina v Pospisil Prediction and Tip
Neither man is at home on grass, but the Spaniard will be boosted by his exploits in Paris, whereas Pospisil has found inning in 2021 a hard thing to do.
