Barbora Krejcikova is heading into this game after back to back title runs in the Strasbourg Open and the French Open. The World No. 17 had a sensational run in Paris where she won the major in singles and doubles (with Katerina Siniakova).
Plus, in the process of becoming a force to be reckoned with, she beat several big guns in the Roland Garros, namely Elina Svitolina, Sloane Stephens, Cori Gauff, Maria Sakkari, and Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova.
Earlier in the season, Krejcikova delivered a similar run in the Dubai Tennis Championships too, where she fell to Garbine Muguruza in the final. Nonetheless, with singles and four doubles finals in 2021, the 25-year-old Krejcikova has got a bright future ahead of her and is primed for a good season in the second half.
That said, she did miss out on the grass tune-up events and is essentially playing in her first professional grass game in 2021. And to make things more interesting, Krejcikova hasn’t featured in the singles main draw here at Wimbledon. As a doubles player, however, she won the title in 2018 with Siniakova and reached the semifinal the following year.

Tauson in for a Fight
18-year-old Clara Tauson has had a promising season so far but she still has leaps and bounds to go on the WTA Tour. She won a couple of ITF events between January and February and later built on this with a title-winning run in the Lyon Open.
Playing as a qualifier in that French tournament, Tauson beat Ekaterina Alexandrova, Paula Badosa, Camila Giorgi, and Viktorija Golubic to lift her maiden singles title.
That, however, was the last time Tauson had a run like that on the tour. Since then, she has fallen right in the early rounds. And by the looks of it, she is set to incur a similar defeat here too. After her second-round defeat to Azarenka in the French Open, the young Danish played in WTA Bad Homburg where Anna Blinkova stopped her in the opening round.

Krejcikova v Tauson Prediction and Tip
Krejcikova will start this game as the favourite but Tauson is talented and capable of delivering an upset here. Plus, the Czech may find herself battling some nerves seeing that she is competing for the first time in the Wimbledon singles main draw.
