Taberner Inching up the ATP Rankings
Having begun the season outside the top 140 on the ATP charts, Taberner has managed to carve out some solid performances this year on both, the ATP main and Challenger circuit. And that has resulted in the Spaniard climbing up the ATP rankings, hitting a career-best of 113th recently.
Taberner, who has already won two Challenger titles this year on clay, recently featured in Hamburg Open where as a qualifier he defeated Feliciano Lopez in the first round. The Spaniard then fell in the second to another Spaniard, Pablo Carreno Busta to crash out of the competition.
That victory was his first ATP main draw win of the season, and something he would dearly want to build on. Especially given his form on the second-tier circuit has been quite something to behold.
He has an opponent who has found it difficult to convert his Futures talent into results on the senior circuit.

Serdarušić Struggling Even on Favourite Surface
Clay is Serdarušić’s favourite surface but even on that he has barely had any form going in 2021.
In fact of the 17 Challenger tournaments he has played this season, Serdarušić has met with first round resistance at 11 of them while having failed to qualify for one other. It was only more recently, at Perugia did Serdarušić register his first set of three successive victories for 2021.
What was interesting about those wins, however, was Serdarušić started out as an underdog in each of those three matches with odds greater than 1/1 on offer and the Croat showed he was capable of holding his own on clay.
Unfortunately for Serdarušić, a defeat in the semifinal there was followed by another first round loss at Iasi Challenger last week, continuing his run of poor form.
Taberner v Serdarušić Prediction and Tip
Other than a spurt of brilliance from Serdarušić, it’s difficult to see how he can overcome the odds and upset Taberner in this one given his own form. Expecting Taberner to come through in straight sets.
Tip: Taberner to win in straight sets: 4/5 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
