He followed up with another last-16 finish at the season’s first Masters 1000 even in Miami. Having crashed out early at French Open and All England, Isner is desperate to salvage his season with some titles in the ongoing hard court swing and, hopefully, run deep at Flushing Meadows.

Does Wolf Have a Surprise up His Sleeve?
Ranked a faraway 151st in singles currently, Jeffrey John Wolf hasn’t taken too many forward strides this season. His best run was on the hard courts at St. Petersburg where he made the third round.
The next best run for the promising 22-year-old American was at the Hamburg Challenger event where he also reached the third round.
The third-round clash against the vastly experienced Isner marks a massive step-up for the young American but the rookie does pack the promise to not only push his more accomplished compatriot but also engineer an upset

Isner, as the sixth seed, will start as an overwhelming favorite against the 151st-ranked Wolf, but the latter will have the advantage of not having played the former before and can even spring a nasty surprise on the big-server.
