Karen Khachanov v Cameron Norrie Head to Head
Norrie leads the head-to- head 2-1, with all three matches played in 2021. While Khachanov won their hard court battle at Rotterdam, Norrie won both clay court meetings thereafter.

Russian Next Gen Karen Khachanov was once ranked number eight in the world and after winning the Masters 1000 at the Paris Masters in 2018 and being a French Open quarter-finalist in 2019, his level and consistency have dropped and he is ranked just within the top 25 in the world now.
With a disappointing second round loss at the French Open, and early losses at Halle and Mallorca on the grass, the Russian came to the grass swing without much hope or belief.
He had a good run at the All England Lawn Tennis Club making the final eight, winning crucial matches against the likes of Frances Tiafoe and Sebastian Korda before falling short in the quarters against Denis Shapovalov in a tight five-setter.
The Russian continued his inspired run at the Tokyo Olympics winning tight three setters against the likes of Yoshihito Nishioka, Diego Schwartzman and Ugo Humbert increasing immensely in self-confidence in every round and setting himself well for the biggest achievement of his career thus far, i.e. an Olympics medal.
Playing Pablo Carreno Busta of Spain in the semi-finals who had beaten world number two Daniil Medvedev in the quarter finals, Khachanov started strong breaking the Spaniard once in each set for a convincing 6-3, 6-3 win and making inroads towards redeeming his season and career.
Although it was a straight sets loss for Khachanov to Alexander Zverev in the gold medal match, the Russian will be mighty pleased with his performance and form heading into the hard court season on a surface that suits his game well.

Norrie Not At Home on the Hard Courts Yet
Ranked just inside the Top-30 in singles currently, Cameron Norrie has his eyes on being British number one with a good run here this week.
After the disappointment of finishing second-best to Stefanos Tsitsipas and Matteo Berrettini at the Lyon and Queen’s Club finals this year, the Briton won his maiden ATP title at Los Cabos a couple weeks ago.
The ever-improving British star, who recorded third-round finishes at all three Grand Slams — Australian Open, Roland-Garros and Wimbledon Championships — upstaged American Next-Gen stars Taylor Fritz and Brandon Nakashima in the semifinal and final to seal his first championship win at Los Cabos.
Norrie has shown his all-court skills with decent returns across surfaces this year and continued the run with a quarter-final showing at the ATP 250 in Atlanta losing out to Finish Next Gen Emil Ruusuvuori.
However, the Briton did not have the best run at the Citi Open in Washington D. C. Open last week as he was eliminated in the second match he played by veteran Kei Nishikori. Coming to Canada, Norrie will not like to lose any of the momentum gained through the season and will be hoping for a good run heading into the last major of the year.
Khachanov v Norrie Prediction and Tip
Both players have been on highs in recent times for different reasons and it will be down to who is better on the day. Khachanov will be confident after the Olympic silver as Norrie still looks to get comfortable on the hard courts.
A well-fought match with the Russian prevailing in a decider seems a likely outcome.
