Aliaksandra Sasnovich v Lesia Tsurenko Head to Head

Sasnovich and Tsurenko have featured in two career, head-to-head meetings till date, with the former holding a 2-0 lead. In their last meeting, the Ukrainian prevailed in straight sets

Sasnovich Coming off Round 1 at US Open

Coming into the US Open on the back of a quarter-final finish at the Cleveland Championships, Sasnovich launched her campaign against Elena Rybakina of Kazakhstan.

However, the young Belarussian was no match for Rybakina on the day and was easily overcome in straight sets. Her early ouster, to a large part, went against the script as she had recorded two impressive wins  to reach the last eight in Cleveland and was deemed to be in shape and form to mount a serious title challenge in the year’s last Grand Slam.

With her US Open campaign ending in disappointment, she will be determined to get her act right as she opens her Luxembourg Open campaign against Lesia Tsurenko of Ukraine.

Her head-to-head history against the Ukrainian doesn’t make for good reading as she lost to Tsurenko on both occasions that they played each other.

Hence, she would be driven by the motivation to get with the Ukrainian on head-to-head score.

Tsurenko Didn’t Make it Past US Open Qualifiers

Coming into the US Open on the back of a last-16 finish at the Winners Open, Tsurenko faced two qualifying fixtures in the quest of making the main draw at the year’s last Grand Slam.

Currently ranked 40th in singles, the Ukrainian cleared her first qualifying hurdle against  Elena-Gabriela Ruse but lost to Seone Mendez of the US in her next.

She will eye redemption as she opens her Luxembourg Open campaign against  Belarussian Aliaksandra Sasnovich. Though she came out a winner in both her previous head-to-head clashes against the Belarussian, she will be wary of a blowback from Sasnovich this time.

Sasnovich v Tsurenko Prediction and Tip

On the evidence of their previous head-to-head record, Tsurenko should start as favorite against Sasnovich, but the Belarussian will have revenge on her mind going into this first-round tie.

Tip: Sasnovich to win: 8/11 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
