Lorenzo Musetti v Marc Polmans Head to Head
The pair have never played each other before. This will be the first match between the 19-year old Italian, and the Australian, who is five years older.

2021 has been quite the year for teenagers to make an impression on the world game, from Emma Radecanu, Leylah Fernandez and Clara Tauson on the women’s side, to Carlos Alcaraz on the men’s side
And 19 year old Musetti can be added to that list, although he is yet to win a senior title.
He began the year with defeats on clay in Challenger events in Antalya, but then recorded his first win over a top ten player, beating Diego Schwartzman at the Mexican Open, reaching the semi-final there.
He reached two more semi-finals in the spring and capped of that sequence by making his Grand Slam debut in Paris going on to reach the fourth round.
Since then though he hs struggled, losing his only match on grass at Wimbledon and suffering a series of first round defeats, including at the Olympics were he was beaten by John Millman.
He did arrest that trend by inning his opening round match against a qualifier at the US Open, but then lost in straight sets to the big serving American Reilly Opelka.

Australian Qualifier Polmans
Polmans was born in South Africa but now lives in Australia, and as a junior, won the Australian Open doubles titles in 2015.es
And it is doubles that he has enjoyed his most recent successes on the Challenger tour, recording two victories in the Czech republic in May, and then following it up by winning Nottingham the following month.
Singles-wise though, it has been nearly two years since his last Challenger tournament victory on home soil.
This year, though, he not only qualified tor Wimbledon but also got to the second round before losing to Christian Garin.
Prior to this week, his last appearance on the senior tour was in Gstaad where he also got to the second round,
In the qualifying competition here, he overcame first Gian Marco Moroni of Italy in three sets, before enjoying a more comfortable success over the local man Denis Yevseyev.
Musetti v Polmans Prediction and Tip
The teenager Musetti has not been in the best of form of late, and this is not ion his favourite surface, but he should prove too strong for the Australian qualifier.
