Lucas Pouille v Brayden Schnur Head to Head
This will be the first meeting between the two players on the ATP Tour.

Former World No. 10 Lucas Pouille is looking to reclaim his former glory and form following an injury-driven hiatus from the ATP Tour that kept him on the sidelines for the entirety of the last season.
Currently ranked #142, Pouille has spent his 2021 season mainly practising on the Challenger circuit to rebuild his momentum. In the handful of ATP events he did feature in, the results were largely underwhelming. An exception to this would be the Monte Carlo Masters where he reached the third round before succumbing to Alejandro Davidovich Fokina.
His stints in the recent weeks include a first-round exit in the US Open followed by the runner-up feat in the Cassis Challenger where he lost in the final to the then World No. 94 Benjamin Bonzi. Pouille’s last tournament was the Rennes Challenger where he succumbed in the quarterfinal.
Needless to say, the 27-year-old has still got ways to go before he reaches his former self and the home tournament in Moselle should help him in this regard. Having won the tournament in 2016, Pouille has got a bit of history on his side that can help him make his case.

Schnur Looking to Make the Most of this Chance
World No. 233 Brayden Schnur has spent the current season largely on the Challenger Tour, with the exception of participating in the Grand Slams and a few other ATP events.
In the latter, he has never made it past the first round in the main draw. Schnur’s last top-tier event was the US Open where he succumbed in the opening qualifying match; prior to that, he fell to Llyod Harris in the first round of the Toronto Masters.
Even on the Challenger circuit, Schnur has failed to impress with his best performance coming in Almaty and Orlando where he reached the quarterfinals.
Here in Moselle, he started as a qualifier and moved past the likes of Roberto Marcora and Harold Mayot to reach the main draw.
Pouille v Schnur Prediction and Tip
This will be an interesting match. Pouille will start as the favourite on account of his pedigree but given his shaky form, Schnur will fancy his chances of reaching the second round.
