Veronika Kudermetova v Anna Kalinskaya Head to Head
The pair have met four times on the tour although, their last meeting took place in 2017. The tally is tied at 2-2 with Kalinskaya getting the last laugh at the ITF Obidos 4 semifinal.

World No. 31 Veronika Kudermetova has had a decent season so far in 2021 – she cracked the top 30 for a short while, reached two singles finals (went the distance in Charleston Open to lift her first WTA trophy), and collected roughly a million dollars in prize money.
On the doubles circuit, her heroics are far more impressive as she won the Istanbul Cup doubles with Elise Mertens and later reached the final at Wimbledon with Elena Vesnina.
The 24-year-0ld is now looking to emulate similar results in the year-end tournaments. Admittedly, Kudermetova’s form has taken a sharp hit over the last several tournaments. Since the Italian Open, the Russian has failed to move past the second round on the tour. In fact, she arrived in Chicago on the back of a two-match losing streak in the US Open and WTA Ostrava last week.
Nonetheless, the number 12 seed remains a top favourite to beat her qualifying compatriot.

Kalinskaya, Qualifies for the Main Draw
22-year-old Anna Kalinskaya qualified for the main draw in the Chicago Fall Tennis Classic after upsetting the likes of Whitney Osuigwe and Mariam Bolkvadze in the qualifiers in straight sets.
Currently ranked World No. 151, the year hasn’t been entirely phenomenal for Kalinskaya, as evident from the fact that she has dropped some 25 odd places in the rankings.
Her best performance came in the successive tournaments of WTA Monterrey and Miami Open where she reached the third round. On to more recent exploits, Kalinskaya was a quarterfinalist at the ITF Leiria and later reach the second round in WTA Portoroz. In the very same tournament, she won the doubles title with Tereza Mihalikova.
