Diego Schwartzman v Cameron Norrie Head to Head

There have been three previous matches between these two players and Norrie leads 2-1 on head to head. Schwartzman won their first encounter in Antwerp in 2018 before Norrie made it two in two in Acapulco in 2019 and US Open last year.

Schwartzman Hopes to Take Down Another Brit

Having already sent Dan Evans out in the third round, Schwartzman will now hope he can repeat the dose against the Brit number one, Norrie but things could get slightly tougher for him. And a lot of that is to do with Norrie’s form.

That aside, however, the Argentine would be reasonably chuffed with his own showing this competition. This includes Schwartzman winning his fourth round match against Casper Ruud, and the manner in which he won it.

Schwartzman cruised past Ruud 6-3, 6-3, in a match lasting an hour and 42 minutes.

The opening set was a breeze for Schwartzman who broke his opponent twice and while he dropped his own serve early in the second set, the Argentine came back to break Ruud two more times to clinch the set and the match.

With tough wins over Maxime Cressy and Evans under his belt already, it remains to be seen how he goes from here on.

Norrie Continues to Need Three Sets

Form has been on Norrie’s side all season including in the lead-up to this Indian Wells Masters when he made the final at San Diego. And while he has been stretched to three sets in each of the three rounds he has won so far, Norrie will be reasonably pleased with his efforts so far.

Because after his opening round bye, and a win over Tennys Sangren, Norrie took down Roberto Bautista Agut in the third and then needed three sets to overcome Tommy Paul in the fourth round.

In a match that lasted two hours and 17 minutes, Norrie was broken five times but was aided by 24 break-points off his opponent’s serve. He broke him seven times and claimed the match 6-4, 4-6, 6-2 to seal his maiden Indian Wells Open quarterfinal berth.

And having overcome Schwartzman twice before this, he sure will enter this match with a lot more confidence than his opponent.

Schwartzman v Norrie Prediction and Tip

Bookmakers have both Schwartzman and Norrie at 10/11 to win this but backing the Brit to carve out a victory here on the back of his solid form.
