The former No. 1, who is currently ranked 143rd in the world, has received a wild card for the tournament and will begin his campaign on Tuesday.
The 34-year-old Scot is 13-13 for the season and will be playing in Stockholm for the first time.
Last week, he squandered seven match point opportunities against the German in Paris, going down 4-6, 7-5, 6-7 (9-11). This was the first time since the U.S. Open, and only the third time this year, that Murray had lost his first round match.
Staying healthy for most parts of the year, Murray has made massive improvements this season, and has looked particularly good in the last few tournaments, which included wins over Adrian Mannarino and Carlos Alcaraz in Indian Wells, Frances Tiafoe in Antwerp and Hubert Hurkacz in Vienna. Durasovic To Make Main Draw Debut
Norway’s Viktor Durasovic will be making his main draw debut on the tour after he qualified for the event in Stockholm.
The 24-year-old defeated Russia’s Teymuraz Gabashvili 6-4, 3-6, 6-3 in the first qualifying round on Saturday and then knocked out Spain’s Adrián Menéndez Maceiras 6-3, 6-2 in the second qualifying round on Sunday.
Ranked 354th in the world, the Norwegian has featured in three ITF finals this season, winning two titles, with the most recent of them coming in October, in Nevers, France.
