Ons Jabeur v Nuria Parrizas Diaz Head to Head

This will be the first meeting between the two ladies on the WTA Tour.

Jabeur Hopeful of her Best Run in the Slam

World No. 10 Ons Jabeur will look forward to delivering her best results in the Australian Open. She was a quarterfinalist here in the 2020 edition and since then, she has come a long way as a player.

With a tally of 48-19 last season, the Tunisian conquered new heights that entail final-round runs in the Charleston Open, Birmingham Classic, and Chicago Fall Classic. The 27-year-old also reached the quarterfinal in Wimbledon and Canadian Open, and the semis in the Indian Wells Open.

Jabeur has proven herself to be a consistent performer and has already beaten many top 10 players. Most recently, she played in the Sydney International last week where she lost in the quarterfinal to Anett Kontaveit – but not before defeating Petra Kvitova in the preceding match.

The number nine seed has a relatively comfortable bracket, with no real threat lurking at least until the fourth round in the form of Maria Sakkari.

Diaz, Working Hard

Nuria Parrizas Diaz is 3-2 this season with her results including a quarterfinal run in Melbourne and a round-two exit in Adelaide. These losses came at the hands of Daria Kasatkina and Liudmila Samsonova respectively.

The fact that she lost to these two players – both of whom are arguably in a decent form of late – tells us that Jabeur will prove to be too tough of a test. But there is some hope.

The 30-year-old Spaniard reached her career-best ranking of World No. 64 last November, an impressive feat given that she was ranked outside the top 200 at the beginning of the year. Her best results came in a series of ITF and Challenger events – Diaz won four ITF titles and two Challenger trophies.

By the looks of it, Diaz is now gearing up to face the big guns.

Jabeur v Diaz Prediction and Tip

This is the first time that Diaz is competing in the main draw of a Grand Slam while Jabeur is playing like a seasoned pro. The Tunisian has clearly got the upper hand and we can expect her to win this one with clinical efficiency.

Tip: Jabeur to win AND under 18.5 games in the match: 5/4 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
