Quentin Halys v Kamil Majchrzak Head to Head

These two players never played before.

A Possible Trip To The Top 100 For Halys

Quentin Halys has been a solid challenger player for a while now but the Frenchman has aspirations for more. His game is certainly good enough for the top 100 but he will need to prove that on the courts So far in 2022 it’s been pretty good overall with 8 wins and 3 defeats.

Halys opened the year down under where he played in a challenger after which he took part in the Australian Open qualifiers but neither undertaking was fruitful. He travelled back to Europe where he played some more challenges with more success. In Forli, he reached the final but lost to Pavel Kotov.

All of those results allowed him to be able to play at the ATP event in Pune without playing the qualifiers and he used that opportunity taking down Ricardas Berankis in the first round. It’s a rare opportunity for Halys to score valuable points as he battles for the top 100.

Majchrzak’s Search For Consistency

Another challenger player is Kamil Majchrzak from Poland who has finally been able to enter the top 100 this year. The Polish player has a lot of talent with an explosive game assembled around his deadly forehand yet consistency has always been an issue.

It is the thing that separates the great players from the good players and Majchrzak certainly has aspirations to become great. Currently ranked just inside the top 100 Majchrzak is going to need to keep up the solid play he showed so far this year to elevate himself further.

The only match he lost this year was against Alex De Minaur at the Australian Cup. He also went undefeated at the ATP Cup playing for Poland which is quite good as well. He started this Pune event with a win over Jay Clarke.

Halys v Majchrzak Prediction and Tip

This is a very interesting matchup for many different things. Both players have a similar game in the sense that it’s based on their first serve. If they hit it consistently they will have a good day but if their serve is not good on that day, things are complicated.

Halys has been superb in the first round serving and he will need a similar approach tomorrow if he wants to win. Majchrzak has generally shown more this year and he is the favourite in this matchup but he will need to be consistent.

Halys is good enough to defeat the Polish player if Majchrzak gives him enough chances so it should be a very good match. I still think the overall level and skill is firmly on the Polish player’s side and he should win this matchup.
