Pedro Martinez found himself in a marathon match against Thiago Monteiro on Monday, battling the Brazilian for a little under three hours. At one stage in the match, the Spaniard was just two points away from defeat but fought back handsomely to clinch the thrilling win with 4-6, 6-4, 7-6(4).
The World No. 61 will look to avoid a similar fate against Londero and will fancy his chances of a good match. Most recently, the 24-year-old featured in a couple of events in Australia but lost in the second round in both those tournaments.
Last season, however, Martinez was far more impressive as he finally broke through the top 100 for good. His highlights include winning a Challenger event in Seville and reaching the final in the Kitzbuhel Open. He also reached the middle rounds in several ATP events as he now looks to go further.

Londero Routs Hanfmann
Local favourite Juan Ignacio Londero started his journey in Cordoba with a clinical 6-3, 6-4 win over Yannick Hanfmann, thus marking his first main-round ATP win in more than a year.
The 28-year-old is a wildcard in the tournament and going by his recent form, it may be quite difficult for him to progress into further rounds. Londero is only playing in his first tournament of the season and the lack of form and momentum may seriously hinder his prospects.
Last year, the #139-ranked player split his time between the Challenger and ATP events. He didn’t enjoy a great deal of success in either; in the former, he was the runner-up in Montevideo while in the latter, his tally stood at 0-11. Londero did win a couple of matches in ATP tournaments but those were in the qualifying rounds.
