Miomir Kecmanovic was in tatters at the end of last year with the Serbian being unable to defeat anyone. His level and performances during the Davis Cup Finals was abysmal but the Serbian turned a page this year. The transition to clay was a smooth one for Kecmanovic who has played on the surface since his early days in Serbia and he had a couple of nice wins on the surface including one over Sonego in Rio. Kecmanovic is certainly a dark horse candidate to win this event, especially with the weaker field.
He will need to keep up the performances and work on his mental toughness because he tends to lose focus in important matches. His game is suited for these types of conditions and he will certainly be favoured in this matchup.

De Almeida Proving He Belongs
Pucinelli de Almeida is a 21-year old Brazilian tennis player that has played very well over the past few weeks raising dramatically in the rankings. The Brazilian is far away from the top 100 yet his level at times certainly assures many people that he will get there sooner than later.
He is an excellent clay tennis player and he proved that by taking down Holger Rune in the first round rather comfortably 6-4 6-4. Admittedly, Rune is not in good form, however, the victory is not the only one De Almeida scored over the past few weeks.
There are wins over Marco Cecchinato, Nikola Milojevic and more with all of them being very solid clay players. The Brazilian has a future in top tennis but beating established players like Kecmanovic will be tough at this stage of his career.
Kecmanovic v De Almeida Prediction and Tip
Miomir Kecmanovic is the heavy favourite in this matchup and with good reason. The Serbian has played some pretty good tennis overall in the past couple of weeks and he has the experience of playing these types of events over the young Brailizian.
There is a possibility that the Brazilian catches the Serbian off guard due to the novelty of the matchup but Kecmanovic is well equipped to handle that. I don’t think De Almeida will win a set but you never know on clay with the odd bounce here and there.
I do trust Kecmanovic to get the job done as the Serbian might actually go deep in this event. The field is not that strong and it’s wide open.
