David Goffin v Filip Krajinovic Head to Head
This will be the seventh meeting between these two players with Goffin currently leading the H2H 4-2. Their most recent encounter occurred at the 2021 Qatar Open in Doha, with Goffin prevailing on top 6-4 6-4.

Goffin arrives in Belgrade in impressive form reaching the round-of-16 in Monte-Carlo, losing to eventual finalist and Djokovic conquerer Davidovich Fokina 6-4 6-1. In his opening two rounds, Goffin defeated Lehecka and Evans in straight sets.
Prior to Monte Carlo, Goffin returned to the winner’s circle by winning the title in Marrakech. On his way to lifting the trophy Goffin defeated Dzumhur, Andujar, Carballes Baena, and Coria to reach the final before sealing the deal in a 3-set victory against Molcan 3-6 6-3 6-3 to lift the trophy in Morocco.
Preceding this, 2022 was quite patchy for Goffin, successfully winning consecutive matches at an ATP tournament just once at the start of the year in Sydney defeating Bagnis and Kudla before retiring against Murray.
Goffin also competed in the Pheonix challenger where he won consecutive matches defeating Kovacevic and Eubanks in 3-sets before losing to Broady in 3-sets in the last-8.

Krajinovic Having a Patchy 2022
Krajinovic arrives in Belgrade after an opening round defeat in Monte Carlo to Lajovic 6-2 7-6(4). The Serb is not having the best 2022 season and has only won consecutive matches twice.
The first occasion came right at the start of the year at the ATP cup where Krajinovic defeated Durasovic and Tabilo and then lost to Spaniard Carreno-Busta.
The other occasion is the 30-year-olds standout performance of the year in Montpellier where he reached the semi-finals in France losing to Bublik 6-4 6-2 to miss out on a spot in the final. On his way to the last-4 the Serbian did not drop a set, defeating Popyrin, Tsonga and Dzumhur before losing to Bublik.
A third win for Krajinovic over Goffin would secure his spot in the next round against either a qualifier or Sousa.
Goffin v Krajinovic Prediction and Tip
An interesting encounter between two players that have played against each other before and have produced many high-quality tussles, both being victorious on different occasions.
Of their 6 previous meetings, 2 of them have been on clay with Goffin winning both of these matches. However, they have not played each other on clay since 2015 and both players have developed their game a lot since then making it difficult to use this as a gauge for who will win.
I think Goffin is the slight favourite to prevail in a 3-set win, with just 4 places between them in the ATP rankings now, this is likely to be a close match.
