Alexander Bublik v Kamil Majchrzak Head to Head

They played two times before with each winning one. The most recent one in Vienna in 2019 was won by Bublik 7-6(1) 6-4.

Bublik Not the Best on Clay

Alexander Bublik hates clay. If you didn’t know by now, now you do. Despite hating the surface Bublik is not shy about playing on it because as he put it often, tennis is his job. He does not enjoy it but you gotta work. Bublik went to work 23 times this year and he holds a 12-11 record in those 23 matches.

It’s an okay year from Bublik but nothing special and his clay record proves that with it being only 1-4. It could be worse but the only win he got was against Stan Wawrinka and he openly admitted he should have lost that match. What that tells you is that Bublik won’t be that motivated against his opponent.

There is a high chance his opponent will want the victory more and ultimately that matters. He’s been in a funk recently anyway and it has to do with the tour playing exclusively on clay but don’t expect Bublik to play that well. Still, with him you never know so keep that in mind.

Majchrzak Looking for Wins

2022 was supposed to be a big year for the Polish player yet it has not been the case so far. He is only 12-10 on the year which is fine but on clay, he is only 2-3. That’s not that good from a player who went 19-9 on the surface last year but he admittedly played most of those matches on the Challenger Tour while this year he mostly played on the ATP Tour.

He is a talented player but there is an obvious ceiling to his talent. He is in the top 100 and he should b there but how far can he can go remains to be seen. Events like these and matches like these are the ultimate test for him and he should have a decent chance against Bublik.

Historically, the Polish player has been very good on clay and he should defeat Bublik on the surface, especially with how much Bublik hates it. Will he? Find out below.

Bublik v Majchrzak Prediction and Tip

So this is an interesting matchup but predicting it is very hard. There almost is no point in trying to predict it because with Bublik you simply never know. He could come out motivated and smash his opponent but he could also lose easily. You never know with him, especially not on clay.

He is the far better player but on clay, Kamil should have the upper hand. A lot will depend on how the Polish player serves as his game is heavily centred around it. If he doesn’t have it, he will have a tough time. If you are feeling brave you can back Majchrzak but it’s a 50-50 game.

Tip: Majchrzak to win in three sets: 3/1 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
