Stefanos Tsitsipas had to work really hard to reach the fourth round. The draw gave him Lorenzo Musetti in roune one and he had issues. Then it was Zdenek Kolar and he had major issues. Ultimately it was Mikael Ymer and finally no trouble there
It was a strong win by Tsitsipa against a player who is not on that level. He dominated from the baseline and he is still serving incredibly well. The backhand is still wobbly but if he can serve this way he will have a chance in every match.
Tsitsipas won over 80 % of his serves in the match and that was crucial. He timed himself quite well in this one. He did not force the issue probably feeling fatigued from the previous matches. It was a smart approach especially because he had a player imploding on the other side of the net.
Tsitsipas has looked very strong on clay this year but he’s also looked vulnerable. He was powerless against Djokovic in Rome recently and that is not encouraging for the Greek.

Rune Arriving In Style
Holger Rune is arriving at the top of tennis in style. The Danish Plyer has yet to drop a set this week and he will make his top 30 debut after the grand slam.
Rune plays a very bold style of tennis attacking from very tricky angles. He covers the court very well and can serve well as well. It’s just a complete package from a player that will be at the top for a very long time.
He completely destroyed Hugo Gaston on Chatrier in front of french fans and he was unbothered. 38 winners were more than enough for him to move on. To be fair, his draw was quite easy because the only big player he faced was Shapovalov and the Canadian did not show up in that match.
Tsitsipas will be a proper challenge but there will be ways for him to attack him. Wilander singled out his backhand and expect him to follow that advice. If he serves well and the forehand is there, it will be an interesting match.
Tsitsipas v Rune Prediction and Tip
So they never played before which should make this one quite fun. Both will have a solid gameplan heading into it and both have ways to win the match. The serve will be crucial for Tsitsipas because he needs it. Rune will attack and he can do it very well.
This week he’s been cleaning the lines so well and with Tsitsipas’ weak backhand, there is a chance. Rune needs his serve as well and he needs to defend well when Stefanos goes to his forehand. If he can survive the forehand and force him to overhit it will be interesting. I think it will be a match in four or five sets but I think Tsitsipas gets it done.
