Veronika Kudermetova v Anna Blinkova Head to Head

Fresh from a maiden Grand Slam quarterfinal at the French Open, Veronica Kudermetova made a winning start on grass at ‘s-Hertogenbosch on Tuesday, knocking out France’s Leolia Jeanjean in the opening round.
Continuing to build on a brilliant season, Kudermetova needed just an hour and 15 minutes to dispatch the World no. 149, 6-2, 6-3.
The World No. 24 wasn’t broken in the match by Jeanjean, while she converted four of nine break points. The Russian was solid on her serve, serving seven aces and winning 80% of first serve points.
With the win, Kudermetova improved her season record to 21-11. Apart from that run to the last eight at Roland Garros, some of her other accomplishments this season include runner-up finishes in Melbourne, Dubai and Istanbul. She has also featured in four doubles finals this season, winning the titles in Dubai and Rome.
She is now one win away from a third quarterfinal in ‘s-Hertogenbosch. She had lost her last eight match in 2018 and was a semifinalist in 2019.

Blinkova Fights Back to Beat Minnen
Anna Blinkova didn’t start off well, losing the first five games of her opening round match before finally getting on the board by winning two successive games. Getting back three breaks of serve was too much of an ask as Greet Minnen took the first set with ease.
Minnen also broke Blinkova in the first game of the second, but the 23-year-old bounced back, winning the next six games and forcing the decider.
After both players held serve in the first six games of the third, Blinkova surged ahead with a break. But Minnen broke back immediately, only to see the Russian restore the advantage in teh next game.
There were no more breaks in the match and the Russian topped the Belgian 2-6, 6-1, 6-4.
A 2015 girls’ runner-up at Wimbledon, Blinkova was a runner-up at the WTA 125 in Saint Malo. She also finished runner-up in three ITF finals this season.
Kudermetova v Blinkova Prediction and Tip
Given the form that Kudermetova has displayed this season, she won’t be easy to stop. Expect her to beat Blinkova and advance to the quarterfinal.
