Alison Riske v Viktorija Golubic Head to Head
Things are even between the two ladies at 1-1; they last met in the 2017 Madrid Open where Riske won in straight sets.

The last time Alison Riske reached the semifinal on the WTA Tour, she moved on to play for the trophy match but ultimately lost to Madison Keys in Adelaide.
This time around, there is a strong possibility of the same feat happening again – with the added bonus of her going the distance. After all, Riske has a decent record on grass courts; she won the Rosmalen Championships in 2019 and was a finalist here in Nottingham in 2016.
And if that is not convincing, she also posted her best Grand Slam results at Wimbledon in 2019 when she reached the quarterfinal.
This week, Alison, now ranked World No. 40, has dismissed players like Daria Snigur, Caroline Garcia, and Harriet Dart to reach the elite four. It is also a good turnaround from her spell on clay where she couldn’t quite make it past round two.

Golubic Knocks Out Tomljanovic
Since moving past the number two seed Emma Raducanu in the opener (courtesy of the Brit retiring from the match with injury), Viktorija Golubic has made the most of the chance.
The Swiss has defeated Heather Watson 7-5, 6-2 and Ajla Tomljanovic 6-2, 7-6(8); with these wins, the 29-year-old has improved her tally for the season to 13-13 and in the process, has reached her first singles semifinal.
Golubic enjoyed a good spell last year when she reached two finals in Lyon and Monterrey and later won the title in Saint-Malo Challenger. She was also a runner-up in Tokyo Olympics doubles with Belinda Bencic.
Clearly, her pedigree is not all that bad but when compared to Riske, it is still a bit bleak. She will need to bring her A-game on Saturday.
Riske v Golubic Prediction and Tip
Riske is the obvious choice here; barring her physical and mental fitness, she should do well to move past Golubic and reach the final. That said, the match may be challenging and may see a fair number of games.
