Holger Rune will be playing his first official ATP match on grass when he plays the first round match against Carreno Busta.
The Danish NexGen arrives in Halle on the back of a spectacular quarterfinal run in Roland Garros. He defeated Stefanos Tsitsipas, Denis Shapovalov and home boy Hugo Gaston in that run. He also lifted his first ATP title in Munich in the last week of April.
Enjoying a career high ranking of 28, the 19 year old is 27-14 this season and though he hasn’t played on grass before, his all round ability and depth of skills will ensure he settles on the green surface comfortably.
Rune is coached by Lars Christensen, and has been coached by him since he was seven years old.
