Ons Jabeur v Alycia Parks Head to Head

Jabeur and Parks have faced off in one previous encounter and the Tunisian had won that match on the clay courts of Charleston last year in straight sets.

Jabeur Dismisses Muchova in Opener

It wasn’t the kind of French Open campaign that Jabeur would have hoped for but all that is water under the bridge. Or at least that’s how it seemed like for Jabeur in her opener in Berlin where she sent Karolina Muchova packing.

Taking on the 80th-ranked player from Czech Republic, Jabeur spent just an hour and 14 minutes on court to seal her second round berth, winning 6-3, 6-3. Slamming four aces in the match, Jabeur saved all the four break-points she faced in the encounter while breaking her opponent three times in the encounter.

Jabeur, who had won the Birmingham Open last year to lift her maiden career WTA title, had gone on to make it to the quarterfinals at the Wimbledon which followed.

She will now hope she can continue exhibiting that very form in the lead-up to this year’s grass major as well as she hunts for another quarterfinal berth here.

Qualifier Parks Quells Qinwen Challenge

USA’s Parks is ranked 169th in the world and has a career-best ranking of 150th and it came as no surprise she started off a whopping 14/5 second favourite in her opener against Qinwen Zheng.

And despite that, Qinwen ran away with the encounter in straight sets, slamming 10 aces in her 6-3, 7-6 (4) victory over Qinwen. There was one break of serve in the entire match, one that came in the fourth game of the opening set following which Parks managed to stave off five break-points and missing five break-points of her own.

Qinwen would have hoped for a change in fortunes once the second set headed into a tie-breaker but Parks ran away to a 5-0 lead and there was no looking back after that.

That, incidentally, was Parks’ first main draw win of the season but expecting to repeat that against the world number four would be expecting too much.

Jabeur v Parks Prediction and Tip

Parks looks like she has the game for grass but is it enough to ruffle a few of the Jabeur feathers? We don’t think so at this stage.

Tip: Jabeur to win in straight sets: 1/4 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
