Federico Delbonis v Mikael Ymer Head to Head

This will be a first tour level match between the two. Ymer won at the Challenger level in 2019.

Delbonis Struggling to Win Matches

Faderico Delbonis form has been anything but impressive this year. A run to the semifinals in Bueno Aires remains the only bright spot for the Argentine during a 9-19 season on the tour.

He also couldn’t impress in his only Challenger event in Braunschweig earlier this month, falling in the opening round. Delbonis’ most recent defeat came in the opening round Bastad last week, where he fell to fellow Argentine Federico Coria after qualifying for the main draw.

A clay court specialist, the World no. 84 has won two titles and finished runner-up twice on the tour and all those four finals have been on clay. He hasn’t however, reached a final since winning the Marrakech title six years ago.

Delbonis has a 4-6 record in Gstaad and he has never gone beyond the round of 16. Last year as well, he got through the opening round but faltered in the second round.

The 31-year-old has struggled on clay as well this season and a 7-12 season record is a proof of that. Can he find form in the Swiss Open or will he face more disappointment?

Ymer’s Impressed In a Few Tournaments This Year

Mikael Ymer has put up a few notable performances this season, which includes a run to the semifinals in Montpellier, where he defeated a couple of French legends in Gael Monfils and Richard Gasquet.

The 23-year-old Swede has registered a lot of wins over the last two years. While 2021 saw him finish with a season record of 18-20, which included a maiden ATP final appearance in Winston-Salem, he is 8-8 this year and could be looking to add more wins at the back end of the tennis season.

Ymer matches his best Grand Slam performance by reaching the third round at Roland Garros for the second consecutive year and was also a quarterfinalist in the season-opener in Adelaide-1 in what was another significant result of the season so far.

He is 2-2 on clay this season and most recently participated in the Salzburg Challenger last week, where he won one and lost one.

Lats year he made his debut in Gstaad and won the first two rounds to reach the last eight, where he fell to Vit Kopriva. How far will he go this year?

Delbonis v Ymer Prediction and Tip

Delbonis is vastly experienced and also a clay court specialist. Ymer on the other hand still lacks a bit of experience and hasn’t done much on clay. But the Swede has won more matches of late than the Argentinian and he could stretch Delbonis on Monday. Three sets seem imminent with the Argentine edging through.

Tip: Delbonis to win in three sets: 3/1 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
