Monteiro Arrives Having Won Salzburg Challenger
Thiago Monteiro returns to Gstaad where has a very good record. He reached the quarterfinal in 2016 and the round of 16 in 2017.
The Brazilian is in good form having lifted the Salzburg Challenger in Austria last week. He was having a good month in April when he reached the semifinal in the Madrid Challenger and quarterfinal in the ATP 250 tournament in Belgrade as a qualifier.
Monteiro is known to play better on clay and has a very big serve to follow up with a big left forehand. He is 30-22 on all surfaces this season and 22-14 on clay.
All his hard work is paying off, as he is currently enjoying a career high ranking of 72. Even at 28 years of age, Monteiro’s game is still improving and there is more to come from him.
