Casper Ruud v Jaume Munar Head to Head
They played two times before and Ruud won both of those matches.

Ruud Rolling Again
Casper Ruud is a tremendous clay player and any time he plays badly at a clay event, he follows it up with a much better showing next week. That’s what’s happening this week in Gstaad after he lost early last week in Bastad.
Playing well in Switzerland is nothing strange to Ruud as the Norwegian player won the event last year. It was a part of a major breakout last season that included titles in Kitzbuhel and Bastad as well. The match against Lehecka was a solid introductory one for Ruud who looked comfortable being back.
He served well and generally did not face many issues against the tricky player from the Czech Republic. Ruud has had a fabulous year so far with 33 wins and 14 losses playing the Roland Garros final. He looks more comfortable in big events albeit not as clinical in the smaller events.
It might be because his focus shifted more towards the biggest events of the year. Either way, Ruud is solid and pretty consistent so seeing him winning here is not strange at all.

Munar in the Quarters
Jaume Munar is a pretty strong clay player but his play is rather inconsistent. His tennis is a game of very physical tennis that involves a lot of long rallies where he tries to bait his opponents into errors. He’s capable of counterattacking as well but for the most part, he is a wall that sends all the balls back.
It’s been a pretty good year for him so far with a 38-17 record and wins on all surfaces. Known as a clay specialist in the past, Munar is now capable of playing solid tennis on all surfaces. Clay is still his best one so the quarterfinal here is hardly a surprise.
To get here, Munar took down compatriot Bernabe Zapata Mirallas and Alexander Ritschard. Not the best opposition but solid players that needed to be beaten nonetheless.
It’s certainly a higher level than last week in Bastad and with such good performances, Munar is getting closer to getting into the top 50.
Ruud v Munar Prediction and Tip
This will be a tricky match for Ruud as Munar will drag out the rallies more than the Norwegian would like. I think it will be a tough match for both I do think Ruud will win.
He’s 2-0 against Munar and he will certainly have an answer to anything the Spaniard tries to do.
Tip: Ruud to win in straight sets: 8/11 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
