Casper Ruud v Albert Ramos-Vinolas Head to Head
Ramos-Vinolas has a 3-2 lead and is 4-2 including a qualifying round win in 2019. However, it’s Ruud who has won the most recent meetings.
Ruud beat the Spaniard in Santiago in 2020 and in the opening round at Wimbledon this year.

Ruud Battles Past Munar
Following a runner-up finish at the French Open, Casper Ruud saw a dip in form, winning just one match in three tournament leading up to the Swiss Open.
But two wins in Gstaad are a sign of him returning to form and another win on Saturday could propel the World No. 5 to a fifth final of the season.
Ruud began his Gstaad challenge with a convincing 6-3, 6-4 victory over the Czech Republic’s Jiri Lehecka in the second round, but had to toil hard for the win over Jaume Munar in the quarterfinal on Friday.
Ruud went up a break in both the sets, but Munar drew level on both occasions as a result of which the sets were decided in the tiebreak. Ruud stamped his authority in both the tiebreaks winning the match 7-6 (7-3), 7-6 (7-4).
The tough two-hour-and-18-minute contest also saw Ruud save two set points in the second set, as he came back from 15-40 down in the 10th game to stay on serve.
This is the sixth semifinal that Ruud will featuring in this season. The 23-year-old, who won five titles last year, triumphed in Buenos Aires and Geneva this year and finished runner-up in Miami and the French Open. It will be interesting to see if he can reach the summit clash in Gstaad.

Ramos-Vinolas Saves a MP in Epic Win Over Jarry
2019 champion Albert Ramos-Vinolas edged past qualifier Nicolas Jarry in the quarterfinal on Friday to extend his win streak in Gstaad to seven matches.
The fourth seed Spaniard took the first set in the tiebreak, but dropped serve in the very first game of the second set allowing Jarry to clinch the second and force the deciding set.
There was little to choose between the two in the third as well, which was decided in a nail biting tiebreak. Ramos-Vinolas squandered two match points, while Jarry squandered one, before the Spaniard converted a third to seal the two-hour-and-52-minute thriller 7-6 (7-4), 4-6, 7-6 (10-8).
The 34-year-old faced as many as 12 break points in the match and saved 10 of them. Jarry faced five, saving four.
Ramos-Vinolas, who had a first round bye, had needed three sets to win his second round match as well, defeating Dominic Stricker 6-3, 4-6, 6-1.
The win was Ramos-Vinolas’ 17th of the season. He won the title in Cordoba and made it to the final four in Santiago and Estoril. Can the World No. 40 extend his winning streak in Gstaad and make it to a second final of the season?
Ruud v Ramos-Vinolas Prediction and Tip
Ruud is the top seed and having won consecutive matches for the first time since Roland Garros will be eager to keep the rhythm going. But he runs into a tough opponent, who just showed how difficult it is to beat him on clay. Expect another close match with Ruud edging past the Spaniard.
