Tomas Martin Etcheverry v Facundo Bagnis Head to Head
Etcheverry and Bagnis have played twice on the ATP Challenger, both times on teh Guayaquil Challenger. Bagnis won their first meeting in 2019, while Etcheverry avenged that loss in last year’s quarterfinal meeting. However, they are yet to play on the ATP tour.

Etcheverry Seeking Second ATP Tour Win
Tomas Martin Etcheverry has won 25 matches from a possible 34 on the ATP Challenger tour and bagging one title in Concepcion towards the end of March. He has been to multiple finals since, losing at the Mexiico City Challenger and in Perugia.
But in stark contrast, he has not been able to summon that sort of momentum on the main tour. He has played 10 matches and won just once (in the first round of the ATP tournament in Cordoba).
Etcheverry has a solid baseline game, with some punchy forehand ground strokes. His backhand is also extremely efficient. It is unclear if nerves are getting to him when he plays at the top level. Last week he was beaten in the first round by Jiri Lehecka in Gstaad.
Etcheverry enters the Croatian Open for the first time and will be seeking just his third tour-level win of his career. Will he get it when he takes on a season campaigner in Facundo Bagnis?

Bagnis Looks to Snap Losing Streak
Facundo Bagnis, unlike his compatriot, is slightly more accomplished at tour level. He has won 34 matches at that level throughout his career, and reached his lone ATP final in Santiago last season in one of his best-ever seasons.
Bagnis has a peak ranking of No. 55 which he achieved in 2016 after a sensational season on the ATP Challenger Tour in which he won six titles. While he has been far from replicating those numbers, he still averages a title a season in each of the last three years.
The 32-year-old was in fine fettle at the Pereira Challenger in Ecuador earlier this year, streaking to win his 15th title in the ATP’s lower tier.
However, Bagnis has lost his last three matches in a row with two of them coming in qualifying rounds of the ATP tournaments in Bastad and Gstaad.
Etcheverry v Bagnis Prediction and Tip
Etcheverry has quickly usurped Bagnis and is the fourth highest-ranked Argentinean in the current rankings. His current ceiling should be enough to see off the experienced veteran
