Jaume Munar v Mikael Ymer Head to Head
Munar won their only meeting in Parma last year.

Munar Will Hope to Make a Winning Start
After being beaten in straight sets in the opening round in Umag last year, Jaume Munar returns to the tournament for his second appearance.
The Spanish, World No. 63, is 14-15 at the tour-level this year and is coming of a decent showing in Gstaad, where he made it the quarterfinals before being ousted by Casper Ruud in two tiebreaks.
Munar may not have made it beyond the quarterfinals at the tour level this year, but the 25-year-old has shown great form at the Challenger level, winning two titles in Marbella and Perugia to take his total tally of Challenger title to 8.
A French Open junior finalist in 2014, Munar is at his best on clay and it’s no surprise that he reached his only ATP final in Marbella last year. He will be expected to get off to winning start on Monday.

Ymer Searching for Form on Clay
He began the season by reaching the last eight in Adelaide-1 and then made it to the semifinals in Montpellier, but since then a third round appearance at Roland Garros has been the only significant result for the Swede.
Ymer is 8-9 this year and in his most recent match he went down in straight sets to Federico Delbonis in the opening round in Gstaad.
The 23-year-old, who will be making his debut in Umag this season, has a 13-18 career record on clay, which is inferior to his 48.5% win record on hard courts. He has also played a lot fewer matches on clay than on hard courts.
The 2021 Winston-Salem Open finalist also has a better record on hard courts at the lower levels, however he has won a clay court title each in the Challenger and Futures levels.
Can he win his first match in Umag on Monday?
Munar v Ymer Prediction and Tip
Munar has played a lot more than Ymer on clay this year and has a 28-11 record on the surface from all levels. The Swede in contrast is 3-7 across levels on the surface. So Munar is the favourite in this contest, expect the Spaniard to ease into the next round.
