Zeppieri Makes Wonderful Run From Qualifiers

Giulio Zeppieri is one of the many upcoming Italian players and made a name for himself by winning five matches in a row to reach the semifinal.

The Italian came through a tricky qualifying draw and won both the qualifiers in three sets despite dropping the first set in both. He faced Pedro Cachin in the first round and dropped the first set again.

Zeppieri displayed a very attractive brand of tennis then onwards and overcame Cachin as a heavy underdog. He went on beat Daniel Elahi Galan in the second round and Bernabé Zapata Miralles in the quarterfinal.

His victory over Miralles was his first straight set victory in this tournament. Zeppieri is 20-15 on clay this season and had also made it to the main draw of the French Open by winning all three of his qualifiers.

The 20 year old is a highly rated talent in Italy and has a strong top spin in his left forehand. He is a gritty player and will put up a strong fight against the Alcaraz.

Alcaraz v Zeppieri Prediction and Tip

Alcaraz is the heavy favourite here and he has really elevated his game after losing the final in Hamburg. Zeppieri has to serve really big to hold his service games else Alcaraz will be all over him on the return games. The Spaniard is on a whole another level and should be able to cruise into the his second Umag final.
