Krueger Impresss on ITF Tour
Ashlyn Krueger’s potential is garnering a lot of attention in home territory and she has now received a wild card at one of the most prestigious WTA 500 tournaments – her second wild card entrant this season. after the Miami Open.
Krueger, who successfully qualified for the WTA 1000 tournament at Indian Wells earlier this year, has been on a tear on the ITF circuit winning 19 matches from a possible 28 and bagging the Evansville ITF title just a week ago. She also finished runner-up in Sarasota in mid-May.
The 18-year-old is well on course to reach the world’s top 200, sitting just 43 spots behind. But her quest to pick up her first WTA main draw win this week will be a tall order as she is set to battle the fast-rising Anisimova.
Anisimova v Krueger Prediction and Tip
Despite being two years younger, Krueger has only ever played four main draw matches in her young career on the WTA Tour. She has not really tasted the grind of top-level tennis. Expect Anisimova to charge past her compatriot in two routine sets.
