Ilya Ivashka v Peter Gojowczyk Head to Head
The pair have played each other once before, on the grass of Stuttgart last year, Gojowczyk winning in three sets.

Ivashka holds very dear memories of this event from last year, because it was here that he won his first – and, to date – his only senior ATP title, thrashing Mikael Ymer in the final.
That victory helped him break into the top fifty for the first time, but, unless he can defend last year’s points successfully, he is likely to drop down the rankings ahead of the US Open.
After several months of struggling to reach his best performance levels and after his enforced exclusion from Wimbledon, he achieved his best result of 2022 by reaching the semi-finals in Atlanta, before losing to the eventual tournament winner Alex de Minaur.
Since then, he was beaten in the first round in Washington, and failed to qualify in Cincinnati.
He was the recipient of a first round bye.

Gojowczyk Beats Higher Ranked Czech in First Round
Since reaching the second round on grass at Newport Beach, Gojowczyk has been struggling for results on the main tour.
He came through qualifying in Atlanta only to lose in the first round, and then lost at that stage again in Washington, and did not compete in either Montreal or Cincinnati.
However, having beaten Jiri Lehecka of the Czech Republic in their first round match, a man ranked 51 places higher than him in the rankings currently, he is now hoping to improve on that record.
The experienced German’s best result of the year came back in March when he reached the quarter-finals in Acapulco before losing to Cameron Norrie.
Ivashka v Gojowczyk Prediction and Tip
Although Gojowczyk won their only previous match, that was on grass. Given that Ivashka won the event in Winston Salem, he will believe that he can make a winning start to the defence of his title.
