Garcia Leads the Way
Caroline Garcia is now at 11/2 (with bet365) to win the tournament – and quite frankly – that is not a bad bet to make. The Frenchwoman is having herself quite a moment.
Following her title feat in the Cincinnati Open as a qualifier, she carried that momentum to Flushing Meadows. Yet to drop a set, Garcia knocked out Kamilla Rakhimova, Anna Kalinskaya, and Bianca Andreescu.
Should she survive Alison Riske-Amritraj, her next probable opponent may be either Cori Gauff (6/1) or Shuai Zhang (50/1) – both odds with bet365.
Speaking of Gauff, she has been on Fire in New York with straight-set wins all through the way. On Friday, she knocked out Madison Keys to set up the heavyweight clash with Zhang. As the current French Open finalist and doubles number one, locking on to Gauff at those prices may seem a bargain – given that her prospects of going further are much higher.
Liudmila Samsonova also makes for an appealing option as she is poised to win the eighth quarter. The Citi Open and WTA Cleveland champion is now at 9/1 – and faces an erratic Ajla Tomljanovic (20/1) next.
It is also worth keeping an eye out on the Russian Veronika Kudermetova, who is now at 20/1. She plays the World No. 5 Ons Jabeur (12/1) next – and in all likelihood, she may win the match. Kudermetova holds a 3-0 lead over Ons and has proven to be a formidable rival.

Berrettini Moves to 14/1
Matteo Berrettini is now pegged at 14/1 (with bet365) by bookmakers – possibly due to his four-set win over Andy Murray. His path to the quarters is effectively open as he next plays Alejandro Davidovich Fokina and is favoured to win that one.
But the World No. 14 may still fall as his hard-court pedigree is not solid enough. Except for a semifinal feat at the Aus Open this season, the Italian has not quite emulated that run in any other concrete tournament.
In other news, Nick Kyrgios (5/1) and Daniil Medvedev (7/4) are set to face off for a ticket to the final eight. A win here for either of the two players means a probable slashing of the odds.
Casper Ruud – now at 20/1 (with bet365) – is favoured to win his bracket and possibly reach the semis after moving past Berrettini in the quarters. The fifth-seeded Norwegian will play the lucky loser Corentin Moutet next.
Now ranking World No. 7, Ruud has had a far superior season in 2022 with solid results to show on hard courts. Therefore, locking on Casper at such high odds may not be bad for the value-betting punters.
