When Does US Open 2022 quarterfinal Action Begin?

With two quarterfinals played at each of the two singles draws, men’s and women’s, Wednesday, September 7 will see the rest of the last eight round matches at the Arthur Ashes Stadium in Flushing Meadows, New York.

First up on court will be Aryna Sabalenka, who is seeded sixth, and she takes on the former world number one Karolina Pliskova. Interestingly, neither player has shown any kind of form coming into this tournament but here they are, both vying for a place in a Grand Slam semifinal.

This will be followed by Andrey Rublev looking to make it through to his maiden major semis, up against the Rafael Nadal vanquisher. Rublev hasn’t been at his best while Tiafoe has surprised himself a tad here with the brand of tennis he has been playing.

The evening session will begin with the women’s favourite and world number one Iga Swiatek taking to court against local player Jessica Pegula. Swiatek had dropped a set last round but did well otherwise to make it through while Pegula has shown she belongs after sending Petra Kvitova out in straight sets.

The last match of the day’s play will see the tournament favourite, Carlos Alcaraz taking to the Arthur Ashe Stadium as he faces Jannik Sinner for a place in the last four. Both players have a solid chance of going on to win the title if they can win this, so it might be a fight-to-finish this and an encounter one might to be around for sure.
