World No. 309 Kimberly Birrell has also done well at the ITF level, thanks to which she has an overall record of 26-21.
Some of her big performances this year include a runner-up finish, two semifinal finishes and four quarterfinal finishes all at the ITF level.
The last time she competed it was in the U.S. Open qualifiers, where she won the first but lost the second match.
The 24-year-old Aussie, who will be playing in Seoul for the first time, has a good record on hard courts than on other surfaces. This year she is 23-16 on the surface across levels.
