Lauren Davis v Sara Errani Head to Head
There have been four previous meetings between these two including a Billie Jean King Cup face-off and Errani leads 3-1 on head to head. The thing to add here is they haven’t played each other since 2015 and a lot has changed since then.

Since making it to the semifinal at the Bastad Open earlier this year in July, Davis had struggled to get going. In fact in the five tournaments that she participated in after that, Davis did not win a single main draw match even failing to qualify for two of those tournaments.
Fortunately for Davis, she has shown some more rhythm in the last two competitions she was a part of.
At the US Open, Davis overcame Lucia Bronzetti and Ekaterina Alexandrova to drive herself to the third round despite having gone into both matches as the second favourite.
In the WTA 125 event in Budapest that followed, Davis won her first couple of rounds again before Oceane Dodin got the better of her.
With these results under her belt, Davis will hope she can start things off strongly against a player who has had her own issues over the last few seasons.

Errani Coming off Bucharest Semifinal
WTA Bucharest is a part of the WTA 125 series of competitions and that’s where Errani has been trying to compete to keep afloat.
The former world number five, who is now 110th in the world had fallen to outside the top 200 earlier this season and it’s only her performances at the WTA 125 level that has ensured she is back gunning for a spot in the top 100.
The last time Errani was in the top 100 was way back in 2017 and a strong showing here in Parma could help her break that barrier yet again. A showing like the one in Bucharest in the lead-up to this competition where she made the semifinal.
Or even better, the Contrexeville Challenger earlier in July where she won the title – her first since 2019 at any level.
Given her propensity for clay, Errani will start off knowing she has a chance.
