Martina Trevisan v Sara Sorribes Tormo Head to Head
There has been one previous meeting between these two players with Sorribes Tormo having clinched it in three sets on the grass courts of Bad Homburg in 2021.

Clay has always been a go-to surface for Trevisan and it’s no surprise she has opted to participate on the red dirt of Parma Open.
Trevisan comes into this tournament ranked 27th in the world for a reason too. While her performances on other surfaces have left a tad to desire, she has already won a title on clay this year but more vitally made it as far as the semifinal at the French Open.
That title, in Rabat, was her maiden on the WTA circuit while that French Open run saw her overcoming Leylah Fernandez in the quarterfinal before Cori Gauff’s quality proved to be too much for her to handle.
Can the Italian go the distance here in a competition she is the second seed? Her first round showing against a slightly tricky opponent could be an indicator.

Sorribes Tormo Steady on Clay
While she cannot lay a claim to having performed as well as Trevisan on clay this season, a 10-5 win-loss record on it would be reasonably satisfying for Sorribes Tormo. Especially given she has shown consistency through the five tournaments she has featured in on red dirt.
Sorribes Tormo made the quarterfinal at the Lausanne Open and followed it up with another solid showing in Palermo where she was a semifinalist.
Earlier, however, the Spaniard’s best performance came at the Madrid Open, a WTA 1000 event, where she stunned Naomi Osaka and Daria Kasatkina en route her quarterfinal appearance.
She might not start off a favourite against Trevisan in her opener here but expect her to put up a strong showing despite having lost her last two matches.
