Jaqueline Cristian v Katie Boulter Head to Head

Cristian and Boulter have not played at tour level, but their one match at the Burnie ITF in 2018 was won by the Romanian in three sets.

Cristian Captures Le Neubourg ITF

Jaqueline Cristian cut a forlorn figure for almost six months after suffering a serious knee injury at the Qatar Open. Her return to the tour was a victory in itself despite going down to Anett Kontaveit in the first round of the US Open last month.

Cristian turned to the ITF in her bid to rebuild her confidence and match sharpness and she was duly rewarded. In Le Neubourg, the Romanian World No. 68 was in top gear as he romped to win her first title in two years.

Cristian improves to 10-8 for the season, with five of those wins coming in a week. She will be playing in just her ninth tournament of the season as she looks to end the season on a high note.

Boulter Fights Back to Beat Snigur

Katie Boulter clinched the last remaining spot in the main draw of the Tallinn Open after fighting back from a one-set deficit to beat Ukraine’s Daria Snigur.

The 20-year-old Singur had been somewhat of a sensation at the US Open where she came through the qualifiers and upset multiple Grand Slam winner Simona Halep in the first round.

And after a dominant first set, Snigur looked well on course to record another monumental win, but she couldn’t close out the second set despite bringing the score level at 4-4. Boulter wrestled control of the match by breaking serve for a 5-4 lead before forcing a decider.

Both players had their serving yips, with four breaks to start off the third set. But once Boulter raised her level, Snigur’s tactical awareness was slightly below par.

Cristian v Boulter Prediction and Tip

I think Cristian’s chances are slightly underestimated because of her lack of game time. But if her recent title success is anything to go by, she might surprise the injury-prone Boulter.
