Madison Keys v Viktorija Golubic Head to Head
There have been two meetings between them on the WTA circuit and both have won one apiece.
Keys won their Miami Open match from 2017 in straight sets while Golubic had her revenge last year at Wimbledon when she registered a 7-6 (3), 6-3 win over here in the Wimbledon fourth round.

Keys did not have the greatest of starts to the US Open Series as she moved from grass to hard courts. A second round loss at San Jose was followed by an opening defeat in the Canadian Open in Toronto, with the latter loss coming to Asia Muhammad who was 3/1 to win that encounter.
The American regrouped well though.
At the Cincinnati Open that followed, Keys stunned both, the French Open and Wimbledon winners – Iga Swiatek and Elena Rybakina – to reach the semifinal. She fell to Petra Kvitova in a fighting three-setter.
Keys would have loved to do something similar at the US Open too but after winning a couple of rounds, she was drawn up against Iga Swiatek and that was the end of her campaign.

Golubic Hasn’t Won a Main Draw Match Since July
Once a 35th-ranked player in the world, Golubic has fallen to 90th on the rankings and that can be seen from the way the wins have been so few and far between.
The Swiss player was a quarterfinalist at the Warsaw Open but since then has failed to get through to the second round of any top-level WTA events. Sure there was a WTA 125 tournament in which she won a round but that has been as much as she has managed.
More recently, Golubic needed to go through the qualifiers to make the US Open first round but Jessica Pegula ended her stay in the opener.
She defeated Daniela Vismane and Anna-Lena Friedsam here to enter the main draw again but now faces another top-20 American who could halt her progress in this competition.

Not surprisingly, Keys is 9/25 to win this and we will have to back the American to carve out a neat victory at this one.
