Ana Bogdan v Laura Pigossi Head to Head
It is 1-0 to Bogdan; they met as recently as the 2022 WTA Warsaw quarterfinal, where the Romanian won 6-1, 6-1.

Pigossi in a Rut
28-year-old Laura Pigossi is battling form woes as she is set to compete in Parma with hardly any form.
Her last three tournaments were 125K series events in Bari, Bucharest, and Budapest; Laura walked away with just one win and three losses. It was also the case in the US Open – her sole North American tournament in recent months – where she fell in the opening qualifying match to Elina Avanesyan.
Her singles tally stands at 22-23, with most of those wins coming on clay courts. As a qualifier, she reached the quarters in Warsaw, round two in Budapest, and the final in Copa Colsanitas (her first-such run on the WTA Tour).
Pigossi was also the runner-up in two ITF events on the doubles circuit with Maria Carle. She is now ranked World No. 108.

Bogdan, in a Brilliant Form
Ana Bogdan is set to begin in the Emilia-Romagna Open with a career-best ranking as World No. 53 and a singles tally of 31-14.
She has been in a good form of late; the 29-year-old was a semifinalist in the Slovenia Open most recently, upsetting the likes of Ajla Tomljanovic, Tamara Zidansek, and Beatriz Haddad Maia. Before that, Bogdan won the Iasi Challenger and was a runner-up in the Poland Open.
Earlier in the season, she also picked up an ITF title in France and reached the latter rounds in a couple of 125K events in Gaiba and Paris.
That said, there have also been many instances where she was dispatched in the opening matches – notably in the Grand Slams and other top-tier events.
But the fact remains here in Parma, Bogdan is among the dark horses to follow.
Bogdan v Pigossi Prediction and Tip
This being a clay court tournament, Pigossi will be bold and confident of her putting up a good fight at the very least. However, Bogdan will start as the clear favourite and should do well – with some doing – to reach round two.
Tip: Bogdan to Win, Over 20.5 Games: 7/4 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
