Bencic Eyeing Third Final of 2022
Bencic will have high hopes now of reaching her third final of the year, after a mixed week in Tallinn. She began with an easy win over the local player, Elena Malygina, conceding just two games to the world number 400.
However, Katie Boulter of Great Britain proved to be a much more formidable opponent in the second round, and it took three tough sets before the 145th ranked player was finally subdued.
In the quarter-final she played the Croat, Donna Vekic, in a match that begam with both women dropping their serve, and then once more.
In between the number two set had held serve once, and that ultimately proved decisive as a sequence of three more dropped service games ended the set, with Bencic having held on to her advantage.
An early break put the Swiss in control of the second set, and, although Vukic had three break back points she could not take any of them. Bencic then broke the world number 66 for a final time, enabling her to serve out for the match.

Krejcikova’s Untroubled Progress in Estonia
Krejcikova remains one the world’s most pre-eminent doubles players – with partner Katerina Siniakova they w3on all three Grand Slams in which they competed this year.
And like Bencic, she took home gold from the Tokyo Olympics – in the doubles with Siniakova.
Singles-wise, she has yet to repeat her surprise win at the French Open last year, but she has progressed in Estonia this week without any major alarms.
First she beat Ajla Tomljanovic of Australia in straight sets in the first round and then did the same to Marta Kostyuk of Ukraine in the second.
In the quarter-finals she met Beatriz Haddad-Maia of Brazil, one of the form players of the last few months, seeded three this week.
However, in a first set where she was untroubled on her own serve, Krejcikova broke the Brazilian once, and then again for good measure.
When Haddad-Maia broke Krejcikova midway through the second set, a fightback looked on the cards. But she was promptly broken again next game, and, serving to stay in the match, wilted under the pressure.
Bencic v Krejcikova Prediction and Tip
Courtesy of Bencic’s victory in their one previous match, she will start the favourite, but she needs to be wary of an opponent who has been in good form in Tallinn.
Tip: Bencic to win: 7/9 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
