Andrey Rublev v Laslo Djere Head to Head
Two previous matches between these two players at the highest level have both led to a Rublev win with both those matches having come this year. The most recent outing was at the US Open where Rublev was taken to a fifth set.
There were two other meetings on the Challenger circuit as well which have been shared.

Rublev had opted to take a bit of a break from tennis following his deep run at the US Open. He neither participated in the Davis Cup because his country hasn’t been allowed that chance, nor was a part of the Laver Cup.
And earlier this week as the rest of the men’s tennis world kick-started their post-US Open campaigns, Rublev gave himself another week of rest.
He’s back now in Astana, hoping to get back to his winning ways, a glimpse of which he had shown at Flushing Meadows where he reached the quarterfinal stage.
That followed a quarterfinal appearance at the French Open but more vitally title victories in Dubai and Marseille on hard court surfaces earlier this season.
He will hope to start things off again with a convincing showing.

Djere’s Form Needs a Winston-Salem-Like Revival
If you remove Djere’s performance at the Winston-Salem Open this season from his record, it can be counted as a forgettable year for the Serb.
Djere, other than that finals appearance in Winston-Salem, has barely won anything, losing 19 of the 33 matches he has been a part of in 2022.
To add to that, there have only been four other wins in hard court competitions for Djere and he has lost seven matches to go with those – another indicator of not just his poor performance on that surface but the lower number of matches pointing to his obvious inclination towards taking part on clay.
