Jil Teichmann is not playing very well at the moment and she desperately needs some wins to find some consistency. She’s never been that much consistent in her career but it’s only the logical step as she tries to shake off the one-hit wonder mantle.
She is a decent player that loves to play attacking tennis and has a mean lefty that can create havoc in the right conditions. Indoors hasn’t been those conditions in the past as she has a 19-26 all-time record indoors. She’s far better outdoors and particularly on clay which is her best surface by far.
She was finally able to win a match in Tallinn last week after a run of poor results where she was crashing out early in events. The draw handed her a tough player, a Czech player playing on native soil. It’s Martincova who won their only previous meeting so this will be a very tough one.

Martincova’s Chances Look Bright
Tereza Martincova is a very solid tennis player but things never quite work out the way she wants them to. Playing at home is a good chance for her to get a good win and finally start playing tennis like she is capable.
A fairly typical Czech hard-hitting style of tennis is what she usually brings to the table and she needs to play that way.
Teichmann can’t defend and if you press her hard enough she tends to play erratic tennis that produces many errors. That is how Martincova won their only clash so far in 2020 in Dubai. There hasn’t been much winning for Martincova recently but she’ll certainly look to win this one at home.
She had some decent wins in Ostrava before and I think she can win this. Some say she should win this one but she will need to prove it on the court. Her serve will be quite crucial as well as Teichmann attacks any shorter ball.
Indoors have been a strong point of Martincova’s career so far so I expect her to bring her best.

They played once before and Martincova won that Dubai 2020 match in straight sets. I think Martincova wins again but I’m not sold on it being in straight sets.
