Aslan Karatsev v Tallon Griekspoor Head to Head

This year has been quite abysmal for Karatsev who sits with a 15-26 record overall. His indoor form overall has been very poor as well with a 1-5 record and consecutive losses in Tel Aviv in Astana. He’s not just playing poorly but he’s also getting beaten by players that should not really beat him.
It seems like he has checked out of this season waiting for things to be over but perhaps Florence will be a place where he can turn his fortunes around. He’ll get to play a player who he nearly defeated in Rotterdam earlier this year.
Karatsev was on his way to beating Tallon Griekspoor in that match but a late rally in that match allowed the Dutch to move on home soil. It’s going to be a tricky thing to do considering his poor form and the solid play from his Dutch counterpart but he’s better ranked. It’s expected that he wins.

Griekspoor Struggling Lately
Just like his opponent Karatsev, Griekspoor arrives in Florence with the same indoor score (1-5). He’s also lost the last two matches he played losing to Vasek Pospisil in Tel Aviv and Alexander Bublik in Astana. The match in Astana was at least somewhat competitive so that’s good.
Despite the recent struggles, Tallon has had a much better year overall than Karatsev. Not only did he make it to 20 wins, but he also made it to 30 posting a record of thirty wins and 23 losses. The faster surfaces have been a struggle for him because he doesn’t have the weapons to counter the best there.
On clay, there are some ways around it and he is pretty good at those but indoors it’s largely about his serve. If it’s working well he’s going to be competitive but that’s not a certainty in most matches. He’s beaten Karatsev before so he might find confidence in that.
Karatsev v Griekspoor Prediction and Tip
Their only match was played indoors in Rotterdam earlier this year and Griekspoor won that match. It was a close and competitive match so I expect a similar thing here. The over would be a solid bet because I genuinely think neither can win in two sets.
