Draper Has Seen Phenomenal Rise This Year
A relatively unknown till last year, Jack Draper has seen phenomenal rise this season.
He was ranked no. 265 at the start of the season, but following a stunning run over the last 11 months, the 20-year-old has risen to career-high of 41 this week.
The left-handed Briton, who had never reached a Challenger final before this season, featured in four finals at that level this year and won all four of them.
Those four triumphs helped him step up at the tour level and he did flourish at the top level. A 17-12 tour-level record in 2022 is a reflection of just that. Among his top performances on the tour this year was a semifinal finish in Eastbourne and his maiden quarterfinal appearance at a Masters 1000 tournament in Montreal.
He also had a quarterfinal finish in Winston-Salem and reached the third round of the U.S. Open on his debut.
Draper has featured in 12 tour-level tournaments this year, but only once was he knocked out in the first round, which is another achievement for someone taking his first steps at the highest level of tennis. That opening round defeat came in Basel two weeks ago. He most recently competed at the Paris Masters last week, winning the first round against Arthur Rinderknech and falling in the second to Frances Tiafoe.
There are huge expectations from him at the under-21 season finale. Can he live up to them?

Stricker Has Won Two Challenger Titles From Three Finals This Year
Dominic Stricker is seen as a bright young prospect of Swiss tennis. The 20-year-old is 35-25 across levels this season and 4-5 on the tour.
Stricker, who won his maiden Challenger title in Lugano last year, added two more titles this season, winning an indoor tournament in Cleveland and on clay in Zug, Switzerland . He reached another final in Columbus, but finished runner-up in the indoor hard court tournament.
The Swiss has played some good tennis recently. He defeated Botic van de Zanbdschulp in the first round in Antwerp, where he had made it to the main draw through the qualifiers.
He also won his opening round in Basel against Maxime Cressy. The wild card however was stopped in the second round.
Last week, Stricker reached the quarterfinals of the Bergamo Challenger.
Stricker, too is sitting on a career-high ranking of no. 111, having moved up 135 places over the last one year. Can he leave mark at the ATP Next Gen Finals?
Draper v Stricker Prediction and Tip
Draper is the superior player here. He is enjoying a breakthrough season and will be looking to cap it off with a title success. To go all the way the lefty will need to start well and he will be looking to do just that on Tuesday. Expect Draper to win the opener with ease.
