Stefanos Tsitsipas v Andrey Rublev Head to Head
Tsitsipas has a 6-4 lead. He has won both their matches this year, one of them was a quarterfinal in Madrid and the other a semifinal in Astana.
This is their third ATP Finals meeting, Tsitsipas won in 2020 and Rublev in 2021.

Tsitsipas Battles Past Medvedev
World no. 3 Stefanos Tsitsipas showed nerves of steel as he won a dramatic three-setter against Russia’s Daniil Medvedev on Wednesday to keep his chances of progressing from the Red Group alive. The win also ended the Russian’s chances of making the semifinals.
The Greek, who went down to Novak Djokovic in the first match, needed to win the contest on Wednesday to keep his hopes alive. He won the first set with ease, but faced some stubborn resistance from the World no. 5 in the second set. While neither player created a break point in the second set, it was Tsitsipas, who blew away three match points in the ensuing tiebreak. Medvedev hung on to convert a fourth set point to send the match into the deciding set.
The momentum had shifted towards the Russian, who broke in the seventh game and built a 5-3 lead in the final set. But he couldn’t close out the match as the second seed came roaring back into the contest.
The third set also went into the tiebreak and this time Tsitsipas dominated from start to finish to close out the match 6-3, 6-7 (11-13), 7-6 (7-1).
This was Tsitsipas’ 61st win of the season. He is chasing an eighth final in 2022 and a third title of the season, having triumphed in Monte-Carlo and Mallorca. He is also a past champion in the season-ending tournament, and will be looking to add to his 2019 success by winning in Turin.
But he is in a must win situation in the final match of the round robin stage. A win over Rublev will see him go through to the semifinals, but a defeat will end his season and send the Russian into the semifinals.

Rublev Demolished by Djokovic
After fighting back from a set down to beat Daniil Medvedev in the first match, Andrey Rublev would have felt very confident going into the second match against Novak Djokovic. After all he is the only one in the group who hasn’t won at the season-ending tournament, and a win in the opener would have done his confidence a world of good.
But the Russian couldn’t keep the momentum going in the second match, as he was blown away by Djokovic in just 68 minutes.
Rublev didn’t create a single break point while Djokovic converted three of four to beat the Russian 6-4, 6-1.
As a result of that drubbing, Rublev now faces a do-or-die final round robin match against Tsitispas.
A 12-time champion on the tour, Rublev has won four titles from four finals this year and the 25-year-old has a 50-19 season record.
He had began his campaign with a 6-7 (7-9), 6-3, 7-6 (9-7) win over Medvedev. Can he score a second win of the tournament on Friday and reach the semifinals of the first time in the season finale?
