Krajinovic Makes it Two Three-Setters in a Row

For the second time in a row, Krajinovic was taken to three sets by his opponent and for the second time he came through 6-4 in a fighting final set.

This time around it was Michael Mmoh who squandered a one set lead as Krajinovic won 2-6, 6-3, 6-4 in a match lasting two hours and 12 minutes.

Krajinovic slammed nine aces in the encounter, but lost his three times in the very first set. It took him to get to the second set before he improved his serving but more vitally he became clinical on his returns too.

He saved a break-point in the second set and three in the third but when he got his opportunities took full toll. In fact he got one breaking chance in both those sets and ensured Mmoh had to pay.

Those back to back wins were Krajinovic’s first since June 2022 and he will like to make it three in a row when he takes on Bonzi.

Bonzi Shocks Ruusuvuori in Second Round

It took an hour and 22 minutes but Bonzi managed to overcome the 3/5 favourite Emil Ruusuvuori in their second round encounter to come through.

Bonzi was off to a quick start before settling in and winning 6-1, 7-6 (4) over Ruusuvuori, a player who was coming into the match at his career best ranking of 40th in the world.

Having routed Chun Hsin Tseng in the first round, Bonzi looked to be headed in the same general direction in the second too when he raced off to two breaks of serves in the opening set of this second round match.

Ruusuvuori found his serving rhythm in the second set, losing just five points in the six games he served but when the tie-breaker came around, Bonzi raced off to a 5-2 lead before closing out the encounter.

Bonzi had last reached the quarterfinal stage of an ATP tournament in Winston-Salem last August. Can he repeat his last semifinal showing which occurred at Mallorca in June 2020?

Krajinovic v Bonzi Prediction and Tip
